Sea Aster is a succulent coastal leaf providing us with big flavours and a crunchy texture.
Sea Aster has quite complex flavours with hints of salty, nutty, sweet, iron and nutrients.
It can be used raw, sliced through salads, tossed in to stir frys or simply steamed and served with some melted butter. However, our favourite way to enjoy this green is cooked either over open flames or on a hot griddle pan giving it a very light char.
Sea Aster contains high amounts of vitamin A, C and D along with iron. Historically it’s been used for treating eye diseases.
